We fully understand the impact of Covid-19 on schools and the teachers. Hence we would like to propose 2 different options where we can help the school to reduce the administrative workload for ICAS registrations (Please refer to the workflow below).

Option a (Existing process)
i. School will send the ICAS parent invitation letter to the parents for them to register for the competition.
ii. The parents will pay directly to the school either using cash or EduSave.
iii. Teacher will inform SIMCC of the number of students registered for ICAS (using the ICAS Registration Summary form).
iv. SIMCC will submit the ICAS Registration Summary form to UNSWG to purchase the license. (UNSW will take around 2 to 3 days to create the licenses)
v. Teacher will upload the student details to ICAS portal and assign them with the respective contest license.

Option b (SIMCC ICAS Registration form)
i. SIMCC will create the SIMCC ICAS registration webform for the school together with the parent invitation letter to register and pay using credit card ONLINE.
ii. School will send the invitation letter to the parents for registration.

  • b.1  The school can choose for SIMCC to collect the registration and payment via credit card online from the parents
  • b.2  The school can choose for parents to pay directly to school either using cash or EduSave.

iii. SIMCC will send the registration summary report to the schools on the number of students registered for each subjects.
iv. SIMCC will submit the ICAS Registration Summary form to UNSW Global to purchase the license.  (UNSW will take around 2 to 3 days to create the licenses)
v. SIMCC can also help the school to upload the student details to ICAS portal and assign them with the respective contest license.
vi. Teacher only need to verify that all the students and licenses are assigned correctly.

Please note on the following terms and conditions:

  • SIMCC ICAS registration form has been approved by UNSW Global for the student data collection and your approval for us to collect this data constitutes your permission for us to request the student data from parents.
  • All the data will be deleted 3 months after the contest.

The objective of option b is to help the teachers to reduce their administrative workloads.
However, if the school decides to choose option a and needs us to assist in any part of the registration process, please do not hesitate to contact our customer support team at admin@simcc.org for assistance.

In addition, we can also help the school to invigilate the contest and the teacher(s) will be the observer. This will allow the teacher(s) to have an opportunity to learn the new ICAS contest system and how to invigilate ICAS online competitions.

REACH 2020

In view of Covid-19 situation, please kindly note that REACH 2020 is cancelled.  We will inform the school again regarding REACH 2021 once the contest date is confirmed with UNSW Global.
